Plastinated pig hearts are comparable to human hearts in size and proportion. These hearts are dilated to more closely approximate the dimensions of an intact, functioning heart. Dilation of the chambers provide exceptional detail of valve features and wall structures to be seen. The parasternal slice is anatomically equivalent to the view obtained via echocardiographic ultrasound. Aortic and mitral valves are shown in beautiful detail. Additional slice on the right side highlights the tricuspid valve and relationship between the right atrium and ventricle.
