Large Whole Heart with viewing ports

The plastinated cow heart is ideal for instructor use in the classroom. The size of the heart is not only impressive, but more clearly shows the important features on a scale the students can readily see. The heart has been dilated to expand the ventricular spaces to a more natural state. This enlargement of the ventricles and the viewing ports allow a stunning view of the atrioventricular valves, chordae tendineae, papillary muscles and inner ventricular trabeculae.

The right atrium is intact with a superior view of the tricuspid valve through the superior vena cava opening. The left atrium is removed to nicely show the mitral valve.

A port through the pulmonary trunk shows a nice view of the cusps of the pulmonary semilunar valve. The pulmonary trunk continues to the bifurcation of the right and left pulmonary arteries.
